GPS data collection and integration to GIS
A soil scientist client previously did all their mapping and data collection by hand. This was time consuming in the field and back at the office.
After meeting with them and discussing their needs, we started to work on a GPS & GIS solution.
So what did I do?
Laid out what ArcGIS services would best fit their needs
Assisted the client with installation and setup of GIS software on phones and laptops
Integrated and tested the existing GPS receiver the client owned to the GIS software
Trained employees on the GPS data collection and GIS data creation
Enabled the client to view all their work in the cloud via ArcGIS Online
Trained the client to import and export CAD files to the engineers and construction crews they work with
Act as GIS online portal administrator and workflow editor
In the end, the client’s productivity was significantly improved and allowed 21st century technology to improve their workflow and how they serve their customers.
